Saturday, October 6, 2024

After being nosed out of the win in Saturday’s Jessamine Stakes (G2) BREGMAN FAMILY RACING LLC posed for the picture along with co-owner SWINBANK STABLES LLC, in the Keeneland winner’s circle Sunday after their GOVERNOR SAM (’22 c. Improbable / I’m Betty G) sprinted to victory in the Indian Summer Stakes. Going 5 ½ furlongs over a firm course, the GEORGE WEAVER’S post-time favorite set all the fractions en-route to a neck-long win over a full field of 11 rivals. GOVERNOR SAM was given a masterful ride by jockey PACO LOPEZ who notched his 4,000th career score in the race.

Purchased by BREGMAN FAMILY RACING and IVAN CABRERA for $275,000 at this year’s OBS April Sale, the colt has now earned over $300,000 with four wins from five starts.

Best of racing luck to GOVERNOR SAM and his connections. We look forward to great things for them all!

A dirty nose in an exciting 3-way photo finish in Saturday’s Jessamine Stakes (G2) at Keeneland, BREGMAN FAMILY RACING’S TOTALLY JUSTIFIED (’22 f. Justify / Outstanding (IRE) was edged out of the win by a head-bobbing nose. And it was just a nose that separated her from the third-place finisher.

Breaking from the 8-hole, TOTALLY JUSTIFIED exited a bumpy start to score her position in fourth toward the inside rail. Shifted out by jockey MANNY FRANCO to the two-path entering the stretch, the GEORGE “RUSTY” ARNOLD II trainee made the lead and fought gamely down the lane only to be bested at the wire by a nostril.

Purchased as a yearling for $285,000 at last years Keeneland September Sale, the gutsy juvenile has made four starts with a stakes win (The P.G. Johnson Stakes), a second (The G2 Jessamine Stakes) and a third to her credit.

We wish TOTALLY JUSTIFIED and her connections much continued success and we look forward to watching this talented filly as she continues her racing quest.

A big “atta girl” to home-bred HOT DREAM  (’22 f. Always Dreaming / Heat Transfer) who earned her way into Gulfstream Park’s winners circle Saturday after a rail-skimming maiden win. Making her second lifetime start and her first for new connections, owner STRETCH RUN LLC and trainer DENNIS MANNING, HOT DREAM had to steady after being bumped at the start but relaxed nicely while keeping the front-runners well within range. Squeaking through along the inside at the top  of the lane, she gained the advantage at the sixteenth pole to prevail by a length.

We wish HOT DREAM and her connections much success in the future. She makes us proud!

Congratulations to Wavertree grad I KNOW I KNOW (’22 g. Spun out of the turn six-wide, the gelding took aim at the leaders and powered past them to score the win under jockey JOE BRAVO.

Bred, co-owned and trained by PATRICK BIANCONE, the Florida-bred has earned over $58,000 and owns a record of 4-1-1-0. Best of racing luck to I KNOW I KNOW and MR. BIANCONE!
