Saturday July 29: We send out a big “Congratulations” to our friends at My RACEHORSE on their exciting win Saturday when color-bearer SEIZE THE GREY (’21 c. Arrogate / Smart Shopping) proved to be a determined winner of Saratoga’s seventh race, a 6 ½ furlong maiden special weight contest on the main track for two-year-olds. Trained by legendary Hall of Fame conditioner D. WAYNE LUCAS, the gray colt had ‘seized’ control of the field of nine rivals early on and never relinquished the lead winning by a length and three quarters. He was ridden by JAIME TORRES.
SEIZE THE GREY was purchased by MY RACEHORSE at last August’s FASIG-TIPTON SARATOGA SELECT YEARLING SALE for $300,000 out of the MILL RIDGE FARM consignment. Out of stakes-placed Smart Strike mare Smart Shopping, the son of the late Arrogate was making just his second career start.
Best of luck to SEIZE THE GREY and all of his wonderful MY RACEHORSE owners. We wish you much continues success.

Thursday, July 6th: Making just her second start, MORETASTIC (’21 f. Trained by GEORGE ‘RUSTY’ ARNOLD III and piloted to the win by JACK GILLIGAN, the dark bay or brown filly completed the five-furlong turf contest in :57.98. Her owner DEW SWEEPERS, LLC purchased her for $140,000 at last years Keeneland September yearling sale. MORETASTIC is scheduled to go through the auction ring again Monday July 10th, at FASIG-TIPTON’S JULY HORSES OF RACING AGE SALE. Consigned by James Keogh’s GROVENDALE SALES as agent. She is catalogued as Hip #453.
Friday, June 30th: Making her debut for the powerful owner / trainer combination of WINCHELL THOROUGHBREDS and STEVE ASMUSSEN, COPPER EM (’21 Copper Bullet / Lovely Em) turned in an impressive performance at Ellis Park on June 30th when she dominated a field of eleven others to break her maiden easily by 4 ¼ lengths. COPPER EM became the third winner for her freshman sire COPPER BULLET who raced for WINCHELL THOROUGHBREDS, LLC and WILLIS HORTON RACING, LLC. Also trained by STEVE ASMUSSEN, COPPER BULLET won the G2 Saratoga Special Stakes and was second in the G3 Bashford Manor Stakes as a juvenile. As a 4-year-old he was second in the G3 Razorback Handicap. He stands at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, Kentucky.
We wish COPPER EM and all her connections much continued success. And we will definitely be shopping for more COPPER BULLETS at the upcoming yearling sales!
