Saturday, May 13, 2023: THE DEL MAR GROUP’s HENRY Q (‘20c. Blame / Lunar Empress) picked up another black-type placing Saturday at Belmont in the Grade 3 Peter Pan Stakes. Trained by DOUG O’NEILL and ridden by FRANKIE DETTORI, HENRY Q  added the placing to a resume that already boasted a third in the Grade 3 Sunland Park Derby. He now owns a record of 6-2-0-2 with earnings of $175,140. HENRY Q was purchased at the 2021 Keeneland September Sale by agent DENNIS O’NEILL for $125,000.

Sunday, April 30: Super-speedy TODAY’S FLAVOR (’18 g. Laoban / Evangelical) cruised home a winner in Aqueduct’s eighth race on Sunday in the $100,000 Affirmed Success Stakes for New York-breds. Setting fractions of 22.47, 45.53 and 57.21 TODAY’S Flavor completed the six-furlong contest in 1:09.58 over a sloppy, sealed course.

Notching his first stakes win, the five-year-old gelding now boasts a record of 10-5-3-0 with earnings of $284,830. Carrying the purple & white silks of owner REDDAM RACING LLC, TODAY’S FLAVOR was once again piloted by MANNY FRANCO for conditioner GEORGE WEAVER.

A colt by Into Mischief became the third seven-figure juvenile of the week when selling for $1.3 million early in Friday’s final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training. Randy Hartley and Dean DeRenzo signed for the colt, who was consigned by Wavertree Stables, on behalf of a new partnership of owners led by Miami music mogul Rich Mendez.

March 26: CAROLYN WILSON’S three-year-old colt ONASA (’20 c. Always Dreaming / Silent Candy) broke his maiden Sunday at  Hawthorne while defeating eight other maiden special weight foes. Trained by LARRY RIVELLI, the bay colt dueled for the lead before shaking off the competition and drawing away to a four-length victory. ONASA was purchased by his owner at the 2022 OBS March Sale for $140,000

March 26: DIAMOND COOL (’20 g. Prospective / Patriotic Brother) scored his first career black-type on Sunday at Tampa Bay Downs when he ran second in the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Sophomore Stakes. The PATRICK BIANCONE trainee sat mid-pack about four off the rail before making a late run under jockey JAVIER CASTELLANO to come within a length and a quarter of the winner at the wire.

Owned by DIAMOND 100 RACING CLUB LLC, AMY E. DUNNE & PATRICK BIANCONE the three-year-old now earned over $76,000.
