“SEIZE THE GREY WINS PREAKNESS STAKES (G1)”

Saturday, May 18, 2024:

A huge congratulations to MY RACEHORSE’s SEIZE THE GREY (’21 Arrogate / Smart Shopping) who splashed through the Pimlico mud to win the 149th PREAKNESS STAKES (G1) Saturday. A Winning effort in the Pat Day Mile (G2) on Derby Day proved to be an excellent prep for the second jewel of the Triple Crown. Hall of Fame conditioner D. WAYNE LUCAS was confident that the colt could not only get the  1 3/16 but get to the winner’s circle at Old Hill Top. Talented young jockey JAMIE TORRES, who piloted SEIZE THE GREY on Derby Day, was back aboard this past weekend and once again the jockey / colt combination was a winning one.

A $300,000 purchase by MY RACEHORSE out of the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, the colt has made 10 career starts, half of them in Graded Stakes, collecting four wins (2 graded) and three third place finishes (1 black type). SEIZE THE GREY has earned over six times his purchase price with earnings of over $1.8 million.

We are so proud of SEIZE THE GREY and could not be happier for all of his connections. We wish them all the very best in the future!

“CRIMSON ADVOCATE HAS A RED-LETTER DAY”

Saturday, May 18, 2024:

Away from the races since last November’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1), CRIMSON ADVOCATE (’21 Nyquist / Citizen Advocate) re-emerged a winner Saturday in Gulfstream Park’s Roar Stakes. Taking on the boys in the five-furlong contest over a firm turf course, the GEORGE WEAVER trainee overcame a bobble at the start to get well-positioned in second place before angling out into the stretch to win by a length over her six rivals.

Now a multiple stakes winner, including the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at last year’s Royal Ascot meet, CRIMSON ADVOCATE has three wins from 5 starts plus a third-place finish and earnings of $202,147.

Congratulations to this exciting filly and all of her connections!

“SEIZE THE GREY WINS THE PAT DAY MILE STAKES (G2)”

Saturday, May 4th, 2024

Congratulations to owner MY RACEHORSE and Hall of Fame trainer D. WAYNE LUCAS on their Derby Day win with the talented SEIZE THE GREY (’21 Arrogate / Smart Shopping, c) who turned in a gutsy performance to claim the $600,000 Pat Day Mile Stakes (G2). Piloted by JAIME TORRES the grey colt sat a stalking position down the backstretch before his bid around the turn. He then maneuvered through traffic, altering course by dropping to the rail to find clearance and drove gamely to the wire to prevail by 1 ¼ lengths.

Purchased as a yearling by MY RACEHORSE for $300,000 out of the 2022 Fasig-Tipton  Saratoga Sale, SEIZE THE GREY has amassed earnings of $619,938 in 9 career starts, finding the winner’s circle 3 times and getting the  show placing 3 times.

As a company that specializes in offering micro share ownership opportunities to the general public, MY RACEHORSE’s stake in SEIZE THE DAY is actually made up of hundreds of individual shareholders, many of whom were on hand at Churchill Downs to see their colt’s victory. We congratulate each and every one of them and Mr. Lucas and wish them all the best in the future!
