PETER MILLER sent out second-time starter MADISON RAE (’21 f. Pavel / Taffeta) Sunday to win Santa Anita’s third race , a three-quarter of a mile race over the dirt course for juvenile fillies. Breaking on top, the daughter of PAVEL (Creative Cause) never relinquished command to prevail by a neck over a field of six other Cal-bred fillies.
Bred by REDDAM RACING LLC, MADISON RAE was consigned by Wavertree to this years OBS April Sale where PETER MILLER, as agent, signed the ticket at $38,000. She has now earned $46, 440 for her owners CYBT, RAFTER JR. RACING LLC, STD RACING STABLE and MICHAEL NENTWIG.
We wish MADISON RAE and her connections much good luck in the future!

First time starter BOURBON BREEZE (’21 f. Omaha Beach / Malibu Pride) finished with a flourish in Keeneland’s sixth race Friday, a MSW event for juvenile fillies going 6 furlongs on the main track. The chestnut filly, trained by RILEY MOTT bested a field of eleven others by 3 ¼ lengths after shaking off foes at the sixteenth pole.
Consigned to this year’s OBS April Sale, BOURBON BREEZE was purchased for $200,000 by Riley Mott Racing Stable. She races for the partnership of BOURBON LANE STABLE (J. HILL & M. McMAHON), SHERI GREENBERG RACING, DeSALES 85 LLC, REBEL RACING LLC, and BRIAN K. PINTO.
Best of luck to BOURBON BREEZE and all of her connections!
Sunday, Oct. 8:
Already a multiple stakes winner, two-year-old filly AMIDST WAVES (’21 Midshipman / Troublesome) took on the boys Sunday at Keeneland in the $250,000 Indian Summer Stakes presented by Keeneland. Going off the favorite in the 10-horse field, the chestnut filly raced along the rail mid-pack before splitting rivals in the stretch, dueling inside the eight pole and just missing the victory by a nose in a photo-finish.
Originally purchased as a yearling by the racing partnership Dew Sweepers LLC, for $100,000 out of the 2022 Keeneland September Sale. The GEORGE WEAVER trainee made her first two starts for that ownership breaking her maiden second time out at Belmont Park in June. She was then acquired privately by her current owners R.A.HILL STABLE, BLACK RIDGE STABLE LLC, SWINBANK STABLES, BIG TUFF STABLES and BLACK TYPE THOROUGHBREDS for whom she has won two stakes out of three starts. Her record is now 5-3-1-0 with earnings of $240,875.
AMIDST WAVES’ yearling half-sister by Bolt d’Oro was purchased by Red Wings at this year’s Keeneland September Sale for $285,000. She is currently beginning her training at Wavertree Stables with a view to consignment at a two-year-olds-in-training sale next spring.
Best of luck to Amidst Waves and all of her connections!

Soggy weather forced the $200,000 Belmont Turf Sprint Stakes off the grass and onto the sloppy (sealed) dirt course Saturday at ‘Belmont at the Big A’. ( The 6-furlong race was originally written as a Grade 3 event, however the change of surface and the deletion of three entrants saw the race down-graded to a Listed stake. But graded stakes are not REDDAM RACING, LLC’s gutsy gelding TODAY’S FLAVOR (’18 Laoban / Evangelical) had his game face on and showed he meant business as he bested a field of eight rivals to earn his second stakes victory.
Bumped at the start, TODAY’S FLAVOR never missed a beat and made each pole a winning one under jockey JAVIER CASTELLANO. Trainer GEORGE WEAVER has saddled the speedy warrior in his last 11 starts of which TODAY’S FLAVOR has taken him to the winners’ circle 7 times. With lifetime earnings of $474,080 this New York-bred holds a record of 14-7-3-0.
Ahh, the sweet taste of victory!
